Grand Island
Pictured Rocks

Pictured Rocks is perhaps the most remarkable natural area in the Great Lakes region.  Cliffs, beaches, sand dunes, waterfalls and the northern hardwood forest of Lake Superior's shoreline are featured at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.

The rocks for which the Park is named rise directly from the lake to heights of 50 to 200 feet and have been sculpted into caves, arches and formations that look like castles and fortresses.

The lakeshore area, with its natural beauty and abundant wildlife, is a nature photographer's paradise.

The joint U.S. Forest Service and National Park Service Visitor Information Center is at the intersection of M-28 and H-58 in Munising.  Call the Visitor Center at (906)387-3700 for more information about Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.

Boat tours are available.
